Sharon English High School organized The Annual Sports Day for students of std. 8,9,10 on November 28 and 29, 2017 at Data Prabhodini grounds, Mulund west.
Everyone gathered on the ground by 8 am, the atmosphere was festive, everyone looked excited. Once the races began the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for young athletes .In addition to individual competitions, team events such as langadi, kabbadi and dodge ball were also organized. Maximum students participated in the customized and fun filled track and field events. Students competed house-wise in these events. Red house became the champions of kabbadi after showing a wonderful performance .Green house became the title holders in langadi as well as dodge ball. There were stalls for refreshment for students.
The second day began with synchronized march past which set the tone for the rest of the events .It was followed by a match of tug of war that saw girls and boys participate with equal gusto. Yellow house became the champions of tug of war. The collective intake of the spectators and sudden outburst of cheers were the best feeling one could experience. Next came the finals of 400, 200 and 100 metre relay sprints for boys and girls. Athletes were sprinting on the track with such speed that it was almost possible to hear the zoom as they ran past you. The day came to an end with some enjoyable events for lower standards such as the obstacle race. The last event of the day was musical chairs which added to the happiness of the students
The two days were well organised by teachers and students stepping out in the hot sun and cheering their classmates. These student oriented programmed would not have been successful without the coordination and dedication of the teachers and the sportsmanship of the participants. The cheers and war cries and these memories with teachers and friends will be cherished.
