On 30 th June 2017, our principal Ms. Annie Thomas had organized a very constructive seminar to create awareness among students about the appropriate use of social media. Ms. Dipti Paria, a responsible officer of the Cyber cell from Netism Foundation provided guidance and created an awakening among the students std IX and X. There were many important topics discussed from how people hack accounts to how they create fake accounts and follow users through social media. Certain crimes like morphing, gambling, bullying etc were also highlighted. Not only did she discuss about the shortcomings of social media but also guided us on how to avoid and overcome such problems. The best part was that all the students enthusiastically participated in the conversations. Ms. Paria’s way of explaining things was very effective and she created a positive atmosphere in the classroom. The do’s and don’ts provided by her made us realize that there is much more to learn from the internet than just lose from it. We are really thankful that this session was organized in such an effective manner. The engagement and enthusiastic involvement of the students made the seminar more interesting.
