As is customary, the management, staff and students of Sharon English High School bid a fond farewell to the outgoing batch of 2023-24, on 10th February, 2024. All the arrangements , decoration and snacks were well organised. Std. 10 students looked stunning in their colourful and stylish attire. We couldn’t take our eyes off the stage even for a second as the programme was so engrossing , entertaining and unique.
Throughout the program , the message that resonated was, “Dare to be yourself “.
Everything from the personalised badges for students of Std. X to the backdrop reinforced this message very thoughtfully.
The farewell was a roller-coaster ride of emotions. It started with a formal welcome speech, a song by teachers , followed by an energetic dance performance by our pre-primary & primary section students.
Students of Std 6 staged a wonderful adaptation of Tom Percival’s story , Perfectly Norman. The Skit performance reminded us that sometimes, being different is difficult but it is also rewarding when we embrace our uniqueness. The theme “Dare to be yourself ” was visible in all the performances throughout the programme.

Students of Std 8 & 9 set the stage on fire with some electric dance numbers. Std 8 took down memory lane with a nostalgic poem dramatization of Lahaan hota…..A riveting character dramatization based on Jacqueline Woodson’s book Brown Girl Dreaming was the icing on the cake. It once again reminded us about the strength it takes to be yourself and ultimately how fulfilling it can be. The show ended with a humorous Qawwali by students of Std 8.
We hope through the vibrant performances , Std X students re-lived some moments of their school life.
With nostalgia and reluctance , but with hope and aspiration , we bid adieu to the S.S.C. batch of 2023-24. We wish them luck for all that they set out to do . We look forward to seeing them back at School from time to time.
